Description

The public prosecutor for special economic crime is now joining forces with the Police Intelligence Service (PET) in the case of the Tamil organization TRO's management of several million kroner collected for the tsunami victims in Sri Lanka.

The organization's finances must be balled to find out if part of the money has instead gone to finance the Tamil Tigers' armed struggle in the tropical island state, writes metroXpress.

Money goes to weapons
That part of the tsunami money may have gone to weapons, was documented in Søndagsmagasinet on DR yesterday.

In collaboration with metroXpress, the magazine's journalists have, among other things, gained access to classified documents from the Canadian intelligence service, CSIS, which describes TRO as a cover for the Tamil Tigers with the primary task of raising money for the insurgency.

The suspicion against TRO is strengthened by explanations from several anonymous Tamils....
